Now, to ensure our valuable collection remains protected while fully accessible, we are looking for an exceptional security expert to lead the way.

In this rewarding role, you will manage the Security Control Room at the British Library.  Crucially, you will be focused on delivering excellent customer service, while providing management of the Control Room in close consultation with the Head of Security Operations.  You will be confident and experienced in Control Room Operations with knowledge of all associated policies and procedures. You will have the knowledge of Data Protection issues as applied to Control Room environments and be responsible for reviewing, updating and developing policies and procedures. You will also be experienced in providing leadership and direction for Control Room Teams.

This role involves working within a team of Security Managers who are rostered (five-week rolling - days only) as Duty Security Managers/ Incident Control officers (ICO) for the British Library. You will have experience in similar security roles on a large site, either in the public or private sector with particular emphasis on customer service and good practice.

It is essential that you have incident Management experience, Control room Operational experience and strong team management experience. You will bring with you strong people management skills with a particular emphasis on evaluation of and supporting performance management.
