The Acquisitions South Team has an
exciting opportunity for an adaptable individual with strong attention to
detail to join the team, supporting with ordering and processing material for
the Slavonic and East European Collections, one of the leading research
collections in the world for the study of Central and Eastern Europe, Russia
and the former USSR.
You will be checking, ordering, recording and paying for material selected for these Collections using the Library's acquisition and cataloguing system, working both alone and within the team. Please note that this role involves a significant amount of manual handling, such as lifting and opening parcels and transporting items on book trolleys.
Are you computer literate, with an excellent knowledge of Russian, the Cyrillic alphabet and the ability to accurately Romanise Cyrillic script? Do you have a background in library acquisitions work or procurement and good general knowledge of the geographical areas covered by these Collections? Do you have clear and effective communication skills? Then this could be the role for you!
