We have a number of exciting opportunities for experienced HR Advisors to join The British Library’s People Team. The People Team are going through a busy period of change as we implement our new People strategy and introduce a new HR/Payroll system. We also have a number of People projects in the pipeline with the aim to enhance the people experience at the Library.

Successful candidates will play a pivotal role in rolling out these key changes into the business areas alongside the Senior HR Advisors and HR Business Partners whilst ensuring exceptional HR service delivery to Managers and employees across the Library. 

This is a challenging and varied role and successful candidates can expect to dive into complex employee relations matters including sickness absence, disciplinaries and grievances as well as supporting managers with their Recruitment campaigns, performance management reviews and day to day HR queries and GDPR compliance.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience:


• building effective relationships with managers and employees
• confidently manage a number of employee relations cases (informal & formal), including conducting investigations to a timely resolution,
• have a sound understanding of UK employment Law and ACAS best practice
• Experience of working in Unionised environment
• Experience of dealing with sensitive HR issues in line with the Library’s values and policies
• Demonstrate evidence of their own learning and development
• Be comfortable making decisions on day to day HR matters and problem solving

This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
