Do you have what it takes to resolve issues and problems in production applications for the British Library?

Can you work with a wide variety of library users to deliver changes to services? For example, replacing our Box Office system?

The British Library has a rare opportunity for an Application Specialist in our Corporate Services team, based in Boston Spa (Wetherby), (requirement is to be in the office one day a week at present).

If you work for us, you will be helping to support and develop British Library services and more, as well as getting involved with many exciting new projects.

We will take care of you with:-

·        Flexible working

·        25 days annual leave, plus 2.5 privilege days (plus Bank Holidays on top!)

·        Employers Pension Contribution of 26.6% - 30.3%. For example, if you contribute £1580 p.a. into your Civil Service Pension, the British Library will contribute £7859 p.a.

About you;

  • experience of supporting, configuring and integrating third party and bespoke applications in a Windows environment
  • experience of performing acceptance testing and deploying changes to test and production systems using appropriate change control processes
  • an excellent communicator with the ability to work as part of a team to agreed customer service levels and SLAs
  • excellent problem solving skills and a logical and considered approach
  • experience of data migration and file management
  • Experience of supporting applications in a Windows environment
  • Knowledge and experience of SQL
  • Knowledge and experience of corporate IT services/applications e.g. Customer Management (CRM), SharePoint, Box Office or eCommerce

Additional information;

  • It is possible that you may be expected to occasionally travel between the Library's main sites of Boston Spa and St Pancras or to external meetings with third parties, e.g. software vendors or other Legal Deposit Library teams
  • It is possible you will be required to work early mornings, evenings and at weekends either on a regular basis or for specific purposes
  • You may also be required to participate in an on-call rota
