Part Time 21.6 hours per week, Fixed Term until 31 December 2022

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced System Change officer. The British Library is currently in the early stages of implementing a new HR Payroll System. This will involve significant amounts of organisational change and you will become an expert in the new system in order to redesign and roll out new processes and support staff and managers and the People Team. This role will require you to ‘hit the ground running’ and therefore an experienced HR Payroll system officer is required.  

The following essential skills are required:

• CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) or CIPD qualification or equivalent by experience
• Able to work in an organised and flexible manner, prioritising own time to complete agreed tasks to standards, in a pressured environment with conflicting demands, meeting deadlines.
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Has an understanding of policy and procedures relating to employee lifecycle transactions such as Pay/Leave/Pension/Time Recording/Recruitment.
• Uses initiative to solve queries quickly.
• Good customer services attitude - confident and courteous communicator - face to face, on the telephone and in writing.
• Must be absolutely discreet and able to handle confidential information.
• Excellent PC skills particularly competent in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to coach, motivate and train others.

This is on top of 25 days holiday from entry and public and privilege holidays.
